A Flash of Beauty: Scott Taylor

A Flash of Beauty writes “Scott Taylor is a retired aerospace manager living in Mason County, Washington, whose career in engineering set the stage for a meticulous, methodical approach to Bigfoot research. He experienced his first close encounter in October 2005—stalked at night and later hearing vocalizations—which convinced him to take the phenomenon seriously and seek out answers in the field.

In the fall of 2006, Scott joined the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO) after participating in an expedition in the Washington Cascades. Since then, he has completed over 229 (and counting) formal investigations, attended numerous BFRO expeditions across the Cascades, Central Oregon, and Utah, and now organizes and leads annual BFRO outings in Washington.

Beyond fieldwork, Scott is a sought-after speaker—sharing “Sasquatch 101” lectures in libraries and at conferences—drawing on nearly two decades of experience documenting sightings, conducting follow-up interviews, and deploying parabolic microphones, trail cameras, and other investigative tools. In July 2025, he’ll again guide enthusiasts and newcomers alike on a BFRO expedition, continuing his mission to collect credible evidence and deepen public understanding of America’s most elusive cryptid.”

Scotts right, that a lot of the woo about Sasquatches back in 2010 and was considered nonsense, is now being accepted, as is the eye glow.
I like his theory on trail cameras. Most interesting when he describes the smell difference between the females and the males, which I had never heard before. I like how he states they are far more numerous than people think, just based on the amount of people that have seen them. Almost everyone in his town of Packwood, WA has had a sighting or experience. I remember years ago that Dr. Meldrum would state he thought the entire North American population was around 6000. I always thought this to be a ridiculously low number. However this was in the days where witnesses were afraid of discussing their experiences. And of course, now, people are much more open, but still so many will not discuss an event for the obvious reason.
    What a great interview.
