In episode 21 of The Crypto Files, we take a look at Almas. The Almas or Alma, Mongolian for “wild man” is much like the Yeti or our American Bigfoot. There is a long history of sightings and tales about Almas. Everything from written sightings to tales of the capture of a Almas.
Even though, the creature is not currently recognized or cataloged by science, there is a lot of interest in the subject. Speculation that Almases may be real and not just a legendary creatures is based on eyewitness accounts, footprint finds, and long-standing native traditions.

The female one of these creatures captured and then civilized by some Russians in the early 20th century had a few offspring with her masters, that means these monsters that look more human have probably breed with captured or abducted females.

You are referring to Zana. The DNA of Zana’s son Kvit was analysed and shown to be homo sapiens. What was interesting about his DNA is that it showed his mother, Zana, was most likely of African origin.
Michael L
I wonder if that means that neanderthals were originally from Africa as well…

Bingo, same over here, which is what I assume you are referring to Michael!
Duke S
Neanderthal were from Europe, no evidence of them ever being further south than the northern middle east

it’s more likely that the Zana story had a more sinister origin. It very possible that she was an escaped slave brought to the area by the ottomans.
Tony s
she was a modern human from Africa and she had no connection to Neanderthal beyond what Most modern humans have, perhaps even less. There is some interesting new info that has come out in the past few years regarding “denisovan” DNA in modern humans and even some as yet unknown human relative showing up in some populations in polynesia. What this does show is the flexibility of our species to interbreed with and assimilate our relative species genetically. Had this new evidence been around in Stalin’s day, I’m sure he would have funded Dr. Ivanov’s super solider research into cross breeding apes and humans for much longer. Our family tree is much bushier than we know. For all those hell bent on the Neanderthal theory, Google homo Heidelbergensis and see if that doesn’t feel like a better fit. Also read about “the liger”, the tiger/lion hybrid that is larger than its parents due to a gene recombination that switches off the growth restricter gene when hybridized. While the liger is a sterile hybrid, could it be possible that perhaps humans and some unknown species cross bred and created a non growth restrictive non sterile offspring?
