A listener writes “First of all thanks for the outlet, it’s great to hear all the testimonies from people from all over.
The first time I think I encountered something is when I was 20years old a family friend was home on leave from the coast guard so his brothers and myself decided to take him camping. We went up near Elbe WA and camped just up from the upper Nisqually River the guys all had girlfriends but myself and Han, the friend on leave. So around 11pm we decided to bring a lantern down to the edge of the river to do some white fishing, we were fishing for about half hour and a large rock came from across the river. It was quite large between a softball and a basketball.
At first I thought you dicks what are you doing! I said Han did you see that and then another came at us then a third and fourth they just kept coming so we bolted back to camp the fire was just coals and the guys were in the tents with their girls. We were freaked out we started thinking about what was throwing rocks at us. The next morning we went down to the spot that something was throwing rocks at us. It was far across. Han is a big guy and he couldn’t throw a rock the same size halfway across. We were tripping! It was not realistic that a human could throw a rock that size and weight across the river.
The other side of the river had maybe 100 feet of rocky bank backed to woods and mountains. There was nobody else out there. It was also May so the melt off was happening so the river was higher then normal and running faster then normal. We couldn’t see to far that evening due to our eyes had adjusted to the lantern light! The second crazy thing happened about a month ago my Wife and 2 children and 2 friends were hiking in the Indian Heaven Wilderness and started at Cultis Creek and hiked up to the tail end of Clear Lake about 4 to 5 miles in. We were staying 4 days.
As we were getting through the huckleberry bushes working our way to the back of the clear lake we passed a couple that were camping at the beginning of the lake so I asked if anybody was camping at the end they said they hadn’t seen anyone yet. So just beyond them about 100 ft my dog stopped and would not go any farther it was raining and cold around 35 degrees so I tugged on her leash and her collar slipped off her head. She always leads the pack which was strange. I kept going and got to the end of the lake. We got dried off and camp set up everything seemed normal the next evening at dusk as a joke I said I was going to tree knock on this hollow log. Something knocked back we all heard it! Later everyone but my wife and myself went to bed we were hanging out by the fire and my dog started staring at the hillside right beside us and barking and shaking but wouldn’t leave our side.
The scary thing is I can count on one hand how many times I’ve heard her bark in 11 years? So I shinned the light on the hill nothing then we heard sticks break. They were big sticks I mean loud pops! I shinned nothing I told my wife to get her 9mm on her hip I was already carrying my 357. Lucy our dog would not take her eye off the hill. We finally went to bed. That night we all heard something come though our site it didn’t get into our pots or pans we have cooked in or messed with with our food so I’m positive it wasn’t a bear! It just walked through as if it was checking us out. We could hear it walking around.
Not a lot of sleep that night. The next day I was gathering wood on the hill side opposite of the one we heard something the night before and I got the most eerie feeling that I was been watched the hair on my neck was standing! I grabbed the log and drug it down the hillside close to camp. Nothing else happened on the trip but it freaked us all out! I love your show and appreciate the opportunity to share my crazy encounters.”

PLEASE do not speak of details, do not give the DOI target info…..please refrain from specifics

If you get online and take all the encounter stories and put them in a pile, there are literally thousands of locations where people have reported encountering sasquatch. I don’t see the harm in giving locations but if you can elaborate on your request, maybe I would?

Sorry lord Vader but the princess refuses to tell us the sights of the rebel bases

Cool stuff, very squatchy. I’m learning that you don’t always have to see or even hear them to know they are there. It’s like deep down in our basic instincts there is this internal alarm that lets us know we are being watched by them. Creepy!l

we can all find stories of campers being drug off in their sleeping bags in the middle of the night. I wonder how often that still happens. Or has it slown down over the decades as the population booms have taken over so much of the wooded areas and forced them closer to being somewhat less feral or more civilized.
