Welches resort, Oregon’s Mt. Hood Territory to host sasquatch festival

The Sandy Post reports “Calling all cryptozoologists: Mt. Hood Oregon Resort will host its inaugural Sasquatch Festival, April 11-13, in partnership with Oregon’s Mt. Hood Territory.

Oregon’s Mt. Hood Territory is a division of Clackamas County focused on tourism and marketing the region as a destination.

For this one-weekend event, Sasquatch enthusiasts, researchers and local vendors will come together at the Resort to be in community with each other and learn more about this species of cryptid.

Sasquatch experts who will present at the festival will include:

Cliff Barackman, renowned Bigfoot researcher, speaker and founder of the North American Bigfoot Center in Boring. Joseph Granada, author of “The Sasqualogist,” will offer an exclusive sneak peek of his upcoming film.Dr. Jeff MeldrumMicheal Freeman, son of famed Paul Freeman and author of “Freeman Bigfoot Files”Big River Paranormal, with findings from an onsite paranormal investigationFlash of Beauty: Bigfoot RevealedClyde Lewis from GroundZeroMarc Myrsell.

Other vendors will include Bend Crafters Co., Bluff Farm Pottery, Lone Mountain Art, 10 Buffalos Art, Cole Crafted and Top Flight Sweets.

“We’re thrilled to host Mt. Hood’s first Sasquatch Festival,” said Lori Cabantoy, festival spokesperson and representative from Mt. Hood Oregon Resort. “This is a fantastic opportunity to promote the resort during the off-season while offering an engaging event where guests can learn from Sasquatch experts right here in our community.”

The Mt. Hood Oregon Resort will offer exclusive room specials for a two-night stay and one three-day festival pass. People are also able to purchase additional passes.

Attendees will also have the chance to win prizes in a Sasquatch scavenger hunt throughout the weekend. Those who spot Sasquatch roaming the property could receive a special gift. There will also be a Kids Zone for families, open only from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, offering fun activities for children.

“This exciting new event is a fantastic way to celebrate the spirit of Mt. Hood while showcasing the charm and character of the Villages of Mt. Hood, including our most belove resident, Bigfoot,” said Lizzie Keenan, Executive Director of Oregon’s Mt. Hood Territory. “Visitors will not only enjoy a fun and unique festival experience but also have the perfect opportunity to explore the area’s incredible restaurants, shops, and outdoor attractions. We can’t wait to see families, adventurers and Sasquatch enthusiasts come together to experience all that makes this area so special.”

The Mt. Hood Sasquatch Festival is an all-ages event. Children ages 10 and under are admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult.

 

Three-day festival passes are available for $40. These passes include a limited-edition swag bag filled with exclusive festival merchandise (while supplies last). Passes without the swag included are also available for $35. Tickets can be purchased online at Mt Hood Sasquatch Festival
