The Footsteps

A listener writes “Hi, Wes! I discovered your channel this past year and I listen everyday. It has inspired me to tell my story. I didn’t see anything. I was too scared to move and try to open the tent window.

This thing walked directly by my side of the tent. I was awakened by the sound of someone walking on the leaves. It didn’t take long for me to realize it had to be a huge man by the sound of the steps. It came from the wood line about 20 feet from the tent and walked a straight line to the metal trash can which was about 30 feet from the tent. And it only took around 5 to 6 steps to get there once I was awake.

I was paralyzed and holding my breath because I didn’t want whoever to know I was awake. It went to the trash can and began ripping it apart. I knew for a fact that it would be torn up and trash would be everywhere. After it stopped at the trash can it walked the same path by the tent back into the wood line. Again very long strides.

I waited until the sun came out before I opened the tent. A few cars had driven past so I was fairly comfortable but still scared. I expected to see trash everywhere and I wanted to get it picked up. But there was nothing. Not one piece of everything. The trash can was still on the stake with the lid on.

I walked over and pulled the lid up and the entire trash bag was gone. That’s pretty much it. I’ve camped there my entire life and have never had this happen before or since. South west Arkansas at Lake Greeson. Camped out on the Dam Area campsite. I don’t know if this is related but once before while camped there I heard a very loud noise like a jet plane was about to fly over so I stood up to try and see it. But what flew directly over my head was not an airplane.

It was a long white rocket or something. I don’t know. About 3 school bus in length, maybe longer. No windows no markings it had a pointed tip and smooth sides. It was just barely above the tree line and I remember wondering how it was staying up there because it was so big. As it flew over it got quiet. And it just floated out of site. That happened on a separate camping trip. Anyway, that’s my story.

Thanks for all you do!”

I wonder if this person was sure there was even a trash bag in the can to begin with as it seems logical the can is just a convenient thing to put your own bag into for trash and take when you leave. And it’s surprising how loud even something small like a critter can sound when everything is quiet. Maybe it couldn’t get the can open and the residual smell of the previous trash still lingered inside of it possibly.

The second instance seems interesting with an actual sighting of something though. In both instances it’s best just to pay attention to your instincts and follow that while also knowing when not to let your own fear or imagination get the best of you and potentially haunt you. Running with only your worst assumptions and little facts or faith can really put a damper on future adventures. It can create and also empower a negative force against you, one of your own doing.

    Thanks for sharing!
