A listener writes “My coworker lives in northern NM. This is a mountainous region and a very rural area, which was devastated 2 years ago by forest fires.
In the last couple weeks he is having some issues with a creature tapping on his windows, walking on his porch. His teenage son won’t sleep in his room because something is tapping on the glass and he won’t tell my coworker (Name Removed) his dad what he has seen. (Name Removed) gets up early to feed his cattle down in Mora, NM a town nearby at 1 or 2 am daily. He keeps seeing a large shadowy figure and he has even fired a few rounds at it. His dog is at full alert when he is out there, but he cannot get a clear view of it. His neighbors are all talking about this “Skinwalker” roaming around that walks on all four legs, no hair and has cat eyes.
His neighbor up the road saw it on his porch around 2 or 3 am and they stared at each other through the window. (Name Removed) and his wife keep seeing something running around late at night or down near a bridge that is under construction near the house. His neighbors are all parking closer to their porches and leaving more lights on. He is concerned with what to do it keeps coming around and appears to be roaming this area. Do you have any advice for him or a way to get rid of this thing? Can he shoot it? Can he poison it?”

I remember Wes had a guest on that was having problems with a rake. There is video of this thing coming right up to a screened in window in his back yard. We all watched this thing creep right up to it & look in. Thing moved in a very skittish & hunched over, almost off balance kind of way. Odd. For as skittish as it was acting it sure didn’t seem to mind the backyard lights being on. Do you know what color it was? Videos of this rake thing started popping up on YouTube a few years back. Any I’ve ever looked at were white and sometimes made this high pitched growlie screech that sounded more like it came from his throat than like a Bigfoot growl which comes from its diagram. A Bigfoots growl resonates and will even vibrate the ground when it lets loose with an angry growl. There’s lots of opinions about what it might be, but no one is sure. Is there some reason that you suspect it could be a rake? My other question, if I may, in an attempt to get more info about what it is they are dealing with, is does your friend live on an Indian reservation? I ask because unless he lives on Indian land, is Indian himself, has some connection with tribal members, or has gotten into some kind of a conflict with a tribal member, then I doubt it’s a skinwalker. Skinwalkers are dark magic witches that are for hire by other Indians to hunt you down and take you out. They are mercenaries. They are known to wander and have sacred sites, well, sacred to them, where they perform rituals & whatever else, but not on public land. There aren’t a lot of them where you might just randomly run into one walking thru the woods. They do shapeshift tho. I wouldn’t wanna come across one.
Has he tried praying when he’s out feeding his livestock and senses they’re around? Wonder if he’s missing any cows? Sounds like he has a gun with out there. Smart. Wouldn’t hurt to have a high powered spot light also. One ah those battery operated ones. Also, Matthew H recommendation of playing loud music is a good idea. Sound can be disorienting.
Your a good friend to reach out on his behalf. Your friend must have nerves of steel to get out there in his fields in the middle of the night.. And by himself no less! Incredible. I hope this thing, whatever it is, moves on soon. Addie
