One of the worst encounters I have heard, Pissed me off , If people knew these beings existed they would know the warning signs , No doubt more than two was there , If he would have shot the alpha he probally wouldn’t be alive today , It also shows how chicken sheet these beings can be

Wow. I found this encounter very compelling. Would like to know what Barret’s relatives thoughts are now and how they have accepted/not accepted his story since 2009.

This is one of the best episodes I’ve had the privilege of hearing. Barret is very articulate and well spoken. I so appreciate his honesty. I feel like he’s bared his soul to us and it’s heartbreaking his dreams were dashed by his encounter. Having a loving supportive family has been what kept him strong I suspect. God Bless Barret and his kinfolk.

Wow, no words. Terrifying, intense…Barrett, thank you for sharing this, that had to have been extremely difficult. I was glued to my speaker, hanging on every word, felt your fear, replayed it several times. Felt terrible for the kid/young outdoorsman who just wanted to be like Les Stroud on your amazing property. The more I hear, the angrier I get that these monsters are ruining the outdoors for so many of us…make it public for f**k’s sake, so we can be prepared!! Thank you Wes, you are making a difference, one witness at a time, creating a world of “knowers”…this will come out eventually, it has to. This is going in my top 10.

From the woods of S. Oregon (now with more curtains on my windows 😨)

The way Barrett told his story, i could envision it as if I was watching a movie. For his age, he was very brave and Wes as you said, handled the situation great, probably better than most adults. This was obviously traumatizing. I don’t blame Barrett for how he feels. Thanks for sharing your store Barrett. I have to say, this is one of my top favorites. I think Barrett should write a book with his story, even short, this is really an amazing encounter.
