A listener writes “A while back I was laying in bed and I was startled when I heard a loud “dying elephant” noise that shook my bedroom window.
I ran out to the living room where my boyfriend was playing video games and asked if he heard something loud that sounded like an animal dying. He said he did and when I told him it shook our bedroom window he said he only heard the sound and none of the windows in the living room shook. When I checked our camera that had full view of our bedroom window and some of the surrounding woods there was absolutely nothing visible but you can hear the sound.
Hopefully, even if this isn’t a possible Sasquatch sound, you’ll be able to help me get a bit of piece of mind over the situation. Also we live about 30-45 Minutes south of St. Louis very close to Mastodon state park.”

That does sound like a cyrptid but I don’t know which one.

Sounds like an elephant to me.

(New Jersey) Having listened to this many times, I keep coming back to an elephant. It has that distinctive nasal sound. Having said that, if I had to choose another animal, I suppose it could sound like a lion- with a cold.
Shana K
wth was that?

Guess I’ll be the oddball here, but I hear a mechanical aspect to it. Are those your voices immediately following (maybe from inside the house)? I realize its 1:35am but you said your bf was up playing video games. Area to the left of the carport is super black, what is adjacent to your property? Maybe a little back story would aid in some of the guesses. Sounds like an old engine trying to turn over but with an echo.
