The Upper Peninsula has a special place in my heart, almost like a land untouched by the march of time. I met my wife to be up their in 1995 as her family had a summer cabin on Manistique Lake, Curtis, MI, and a group of friends ( some since my youth ) would go to a softball tournament their each year. Thus we vacationed there every summer, until her Mother passed back in 2015. A great friend of my youth and now, and his family went to Grand Marias on Lake Superior every summer. Then his Father and Mother spent the whole summers their once he retired. I need to ask him of anything unusual up their, and he will not think me nuts.
