A listener writes “Hi there! I started listening to your podcast recently and wanted to share a short incident my dad had. My brother and I went camping with my dad in Arizona.
I think it was in flagstaff because I remember pine trees but I’m not entirely sure since I was around 11 and my memory on the location isn’t clear. My brother and I were still in my dad’s truck while he got out to grab camping gear and set up. It was a little after dark so all i could see were the truck lights and a little bit of the trees silhouetting the sky. My dad came back quickly and said not to get out of the truck and to crouch down.
We did and I heard rustling or steps. It sounded like something was around the truck, but more than one of whatever it was. My dad’s steps were faster. After a minute my dad got in the truck and looked really freaked out. My brother and I asked what was wrong and my dad just looked at us and said nothing as he started the truck and left in a frantic hurry. Later I asked him what he was bothered by and if it was a bear. He looked at me and said it was a sasquatch. I honestly didn’t believe him, I asked if he was sure and if it could have been a bear and he just looked at me. My dad died last year and I asked my mom about that incident. She told me that he did say it was a sasquatch and was obsessed about them after that. I asked her if it was from when we lived in WA and she said it happened in AZ.
I have a lot of questions about them in general because I’m not sure what to think about them. I’ve seen supernatural things so I can’t discount it, I hope I never encounter one since I hike a lot in the Olympic Mountains and Mt Rainier area but I figured they don’t go near highly trafficked trails. I kind of wonder if they are more of a spirit being.
Thanks for taking the time to read this!”

Thanks for sharing. I think that they are flesh and blood and very real.

I’ve never seen one but my opinion of them is they are flesh and blood. However, if I ever get an experience with one, my opinion could certainly change. If they are spiritual then why are there encounters about them eating deer etc. I don’t know. It’s easy to have an opinion when I’ve never encountered one.

I figured they don’t go near highly trafficked trails. Now that’s a real foolish assumption, I hope he/she does a little more homework on that subject.

There definitely can be something Sasquatch like in Arizona wilderness area’s. And if a town lies near that wilderness a visit by one or more of these beasts especially after dark seems quite likely. Too many sightings/reports to think otherwise.
