Tonight’s Show: It Never Knew I Was There

A listener writes “Hello, I was turkey hunting in the spring of 2008 in Illinois. I had roosted some turkeys the night before so I knew the location of the gobblers I would be hunting the next day.

The next morning I got set up probably a hundred yards from where the turkeys roosted the night before. It was just breaking day and I hadn’t heard anything and usually the turkeys start gobbling around that time of morning. As it started to get lighter I heard what sounded like a cow coming through the timber. I immediately stood up but keeping a low profile and that’s when I seen a huge hairy creature walking about 100 yards from me.

Now I have a 12 gauge shot gun loaded with 3 1/2 in magnum turkey loads, and I didn’t even want to shoot this thing but I knew that if I had to I could put the hurt on it. It must have been 400 pounds plus. It had a reddish highlight hair color. I never seen the face but this thing was one huge creature. It never even knew I was there because it never looked my way or anything like that. At least I don’t think it did. This place I hunt always makes you feel like someone or something is watching you. It can creep you out at times. I have heard other strange noises there almost every time I am in the area. Personally, I’m not scared of what’s out there because I’ve never felt threatened. If you want to hear my story I would prefer to be anonymous.”

Luckily he had an ok sighting, still was upsetting I’m sure. Glad he didn’t have to ‘put a hurt on it’ (love it) could have gone bad really easily.

    Hello,

The worst thing about Sasquatch is the being watched. I strongly believe a Sasquatch was watching my grandmothers yard for years. There would be times if I drove into her yard at night I’d feel the need to run from the car or garage into the house. The house and garage were about 30 yards apart. There were times during campfires where we’d all feel the need to douse the fire and run in the house. The worst was myself being the one to douse the fire when every one was in the house. I’ve car camped in Wisconsin state parks; but I would NEVER set up a tent in my grandmothers back yard. Never saw one. But my son did. Put together all of the incidents later. I remember being little staring into the woods and just feeling something was wrong. The swamp was about 200 yards away. I live in a different state now, but if I ever go back, I wonder if there are tree structures in those woods. That creepy feeling of being watched is the worst. Then to believe they were watching my family for years that way. Bothersome. It would have almost been better if I’d have seen it. The one thing that was weird was my grandfather told me to never go into the swam…his words, “There are things in there.” If you knew him that was out of character. Bob

I know the feeling. I use to stay with my family in eastern Ky . When I would stay at my uncles house, the hair on the back of my neck would stand up like something was on the hillside behind me, when I would come home late at night. It has been like that since I was a teenager, just starting to drive, and I bet over 30 years later it would still have the same effect. Like you I never saw anything, but heard stuff up that haller that I can’t explain. Also like you I was told don’t go onto the hills alone. Anyway, your story brought back some memories ?

Please come on and share the details! You seem to be a pretty cool customer and that may help in being able to describe what you witnessed. Thanks for sharing with us.

Agreed would like to know the county, there are lots of reported sightings in Ill.
Murphysboro even has a “Big Muddy monster” parade once a year. There was widespread sightings in 73 including two police officers, and they tried to track it with dogs with no luck.
Last sighting was last year. All recent sightings have been on or near train tracks
