Steven James shares some audio from an area I was at in East Texas. The area where this audio was captured is near a park and bird sanctuary. When the sun goes down the whole feel of that place changes.

To be clear… I am not sure what this is, but I am leaning now towards a bird, and am trying to see if I can find a match. In person, this did not have that bird quality I hear in the recording. What does not come through well at all is the two owl hoots. The first one sounded very suspicious, but was stepped on by the second which is a real owl definitely.
I am the one saying that there has to be someone out there, as that response was too close and seemed to clear to be real at the time. However, with the conference being in the area that weekend, I was pre-disposed to assume everything we heard or saw was deeply to be questioned. So I am a little biased here.

In person it had a far more human quality than a bird. It’s debatable; but it’s unlikly any other humans were in the area considering it’s remoteness and the hour. A trackway was found nearby however

I appreciate you wanting to err on the side of being cautious and that it is an explainable ordinary animal but I really doubt that was a bird. I can clearly hear what Waylon is referred to as the human quality. Anyway thanks for sharing!

I doubt a bird also, not that loud. Sure sounded human or you know what.
