A listener writes “During the 9 day gun deer season in Black River Falls Wisconsin, something which i cannot explain happened.
Myself and 10 other guys camp on state land during the deer season. During the week we were doing a drive and came across a 10 point buck dead in the woods. it had been laying there for several days and it was unseasonably warm out.
The decision was made to continue with the drive and come back the next day to retrieve the rack. It was late in the day and there were posters waiting for the drive to be completed. Also our saw was back at camp.
The next day we went back to saw off the rack. To our disbelief the deer was gone. You could see where the deer lay, there were no drag marks and the leaves on the forest floor were undisturbed.
Something big picked up this 200 plus pound buck and took off with it ! There are wolves, bears and coyotes in the area but you would see fur and remains about if they had eaten it. there were no kicked over leaves, the buck just vanished! I have also heard a loud shrieking noise in the early hours of the morning in back of where we camp.I would say around 2:00 am.The kind of noise that makes the hair on your neck stand up. I have never heard this noise before and i am an avid outdoors man.I know the different calls that animals make. I think it was a Sasquatch.”
