A listener writes “I’m from British Columbia Canada & was down in Washington quielsene & we were doing lots of calls remotely while kayaking. My iPhone did not pick up the intensity of sound.
My boyfriend spends a lot of time out in the wild & is very familiar with animal sounds. Wondering your thoughts? I wished I captured more of it it went on for over 20minutes each time I went to record it would stop. This was immediately after doing calls I recorded the first bit & you can see the time stamp it was about 2minutes after a whoop. At first we thought it was a mountain lion but the intensity was fierce & much louder it sounded to us like there was 3 screaming. I have to admit we were kind of obnoxious with doing so many calls it may have aggravated one to be honest.
We found very very large imprints on the beach too which we didn’t take photos of I just didn’t feel they were clear enough. My boyfriend showed me his weight to step in the gravel to show how much that foot print must of weighed my bf weights about 190lbs & barely made a dent in this gravel where the large print was bigger than his size 13 shoe. I’m kicking myself now for not taking photos of it especially after we left in kayaks & heard these screams.”
