Sasquatch Chronicles

Vancouver Island road side sighting

A listener writes “I have been coming to Vancouver island for the last 25 years. I’m from Ireland and married to a girl from nanaimo. I have listened to your podcast for as long as I can remember primarily because I have had the pleasure of listening to old First Nation stories of Sasquatch from my mother in law who works with First Nation tribes children.

She and my own curiosity of the wild man or hairy man had always kept me interested. Every summer we visit and we travel to family cabin in port Alice. I have always kept an eye for bears but on this trip I saw something in the tree line I can’t explain. My wife were driving by nimkish lake and I saw 2 ravens by the road.

It’s strange to see them by the road randomly and as I looked to the tree line I saw a huge figure that was not a tree. It was a hairy person standing upright as if it was holding an animal. The reason why I looked was because of the ravens as they do waiting for scraps. This is not a story that is well they must exist but something I can’t explain and haven’t told anyone in Canada as they may think I’m crazy but it looked like someone in a gillisuit holding an animal. I could not see a face but I could see legs and head. An arm dropped at one side on the right with an arm on the left holding an animal. This animal looked like a small

Deer. This all happened very quickly but I’m sure what I saw primarily because the birds behaviour on the road gave me enough time to look at that direction.

I wonder if any reports of ravens with them have been seen or if I’m just seen things. Is this something real or an accident of misidentification.”
