A listener writes “This encounter happened in November 2017. Some friends of mine own a house on the Texas/Oklahoma border. They invited me to house sit for them and take care of their cats and Koi for 2 weeks while they went on a cruise. I live in Dallas, so was happy to spend a few weeks relaxing in the woods.
It was my second week there and I was relaxing in the hot tub like I did every night. They own several acres of land, but the back yard area is surrounded with three foot tall wire fencing. There is a large Koi pond in the back yard with (at the time) 8 Koi and 2 goldfish (they even had names.) I was relaxing in the hot tub when I heard a * sploosh, drip, drip, drip,* noise that didn’t seem normal. I raised my head up and looked to the left in the direction of the noise. I saw a large, black shape with long, hairy wet arms crouched over the pond. Wes, at that point I thought it was a bear and thought, holy cow, I’m going to die because there was no way I can get out of the hot tub and take shelter.

Everything from there on happened in slow motion. When I lifted my head out of the water it heard me and turned his (I say “his” because I didn’t see breasts) head towards me. I’ve never felt so helpless. I thought, well, I can try and pull the cover of the hot tub closed and and hold my breath, but by the time that idea crossed my mind the creature stood up, turned his back on me, and walked toward the back fence without ever looking back.
I could hear it walking away, but couldn’t see for sure exactly where it had gone. After what seemed like hours, but was probably only a minute, I talked myself into running inside. I jumped out, ran for the back door, opened it, kept running, slipped face first on the tile, hit my forehead (I had a nice sized goose egg for a week,) scraped my elbows, and slid about 5 feet. Holy hell, I seriously thought I was going to die.
Then I turned over onto my back and mentally forced myself to get up and run to lock the back door. As if locking the door could stop that huge of a creature (when it stood up from the crouching position it just kept standing up and standing up, if you know what I mean.) It was maybe 7 1/2 -8 feet tall.
I spent about an hour in my room trying to calm myself down, then packed my things and drove home. I drove back every other day during daytime to take care of the house, Koi, and cats. I never told my friends what happened, and don’t intend to unless they mention anything similar. From time to time they mention that some of their Koi have gone missing and have blamed it on herons (which it definitely could be, but I think it’s a Bigfoot). They have asked me to house sit since then, but I always make up an excuse why I can’t. They have never mentioned anything out of the ordinary happening on their property.”
I will also be speaking to Casey who is from South Carolina. Casey had a recent encounter while taking his puppy for a walk in the woods. Casey says “My puppy started growling and I looked over and saw this thing. I thought it was someone playing a joke on me, someone in a suit or something. That thought left my head as soon as it stood up and it had a look on its face like it was mad I saw it. I was in shock. My mother who lives on the property told me a strange man all in black was growling at her and saying “Hey…hey…hey”
