Doug writes “I work, and have always worked, second shift. One night, I was driving home at around midnight when I saw something I still can’t explain.
Over my left shoulder, through the trees and against a clear evening sky, I saw a white, glowing orb. It looked a little bigger than a beach ball. It was bright enough that the leaves on the trees were clearly illuminated and looked very green, but it wasn’t so bright that it blinded me.
The object appeared to come in at roughly a 30-degree angle, traveling over the hood of my truck. It seemed to slam into the pavement near the passenger-side bumper. I immediately stopped and got out of the truck, expecting to find a crater, some kind of debris, or at least some evidence that something had hit the ground.
There was absolutely nothing there.
I got back into my truck and sat there thinking, Did I really just see that? Eventually, I convinced myself that maybe I hadn’t. Maybe there was some other explanation.
Then I started listening to your podcast and heard about other people reporting similar sightings. Apparently, seeing strange glowing orbs isn’t as uncommon as I once thought. People have reported things like this all over the country, if not all over the world.
Whenever I tell people about what I saw, they usually laugh or don’t believe me. I honestly don’t know what it was. I just know what I saw, and it was one of the strangest things I’ve ever experienced.
The second incident happened about 10 to 15 years later while I was on my way to work. It was a bright, sunny day, and I was driving on the other side of town.
You know how sunlight can shine through a cloud and cast a shadow onto a field, road, or other surface? What I saw was somewhat like that but it wasn’t just a shadow.
There was a huge area that looked like a shadow, but within the middle of it was a completely solid black mass. The surrounding shadow was transparent enough that I could see through it, but the black mass in the center was different. It was completely opaque.
I was driving down a hill when I saw it, so I stopped. At the same time, a woman in the oncoming lane stopped on the other side of whatever this thing was. We were apparently both trying to figure out what we were seeing.
We actually got out of our vehicles. As the phenomenon moved past us, she yelled, “What the hell was that?”
I told her, “I have no idea, but that is the craziest thing I’ve ever seen.”
We stood there watching it continue on its way, trying to figure out what we had just witnessed.
This thing was enormous. The shadow surrounding it looked to be roughly one and a half times the size of a football field. The solid black mass in the center appeared to be about the size of a two-car garage.
Both of us had the same strange impression: if we had driven directly into the center of that shadow, where the black mass was, it felt like we would have completely totaled our vehicles.
I’ve never heard another report describing anything quite like it. I’ve heard plenty of stories about glowing orbs, but I’ve never heard anyone describe an enormous transparent shadow surrounding a solid black mass like the one we saw.
So, what was it?
I have no idea. I’ve never been able to explain either experience. I just know that I saw them, and in the second case, I wasn’t the only one who witnessed it.

We will also be speaking to Chris. Since Chris and his family have moved into this home they have experienced a lot of strange sightings. Chris saw what he described as two canine creatures that seem to vanish. He talked about family members seeing strange lights on the property and much more. The main point of this email is this video came up in my Instagram feed today. I saw 2 of these out my front window last year (not a pic of what I saw, just perspective).
They were passing behind the barn through the old cattle yard. Weirdest part, my 2 dogs (labs) had just left the barn and never saw them or flinched – I ran outside asap when I saw them as I thought my dogs would be dead in seconds.

It happened less than 1000 yards away from the recent story you posted on your blog that was in Southern Oregon in late July of this year. I’m not too sure how this works, but I don’t know if I necessarily want to have this story published or recorded, I just want to tell my story to someone who knows there is something, what I don’t know, but something in the woods.
