I spoke to the Bob and his mother was a veterinarian and had contracts with fish and game and the his father also worked for the state. His mother would get called out to accidents where people hit large animals and she would administer aid or put the animal down. One night they were called out to a scene where a snow plow hit a very large animal on the road. The animal that was hit was something his parents had never seen before.
He said that both his mother and father talked about the sounds the creature made and how his mother knew it was in pain. Bob said his parents went into details about the creature and his mother estimated the creature weighed between 600-900lbs and it appeared to be a cross between a man and a gorilla. His parents were told they would lose their government contracts if they ever spoke about it.
Bob said that after 30 years of keeping this a secret his father sat him down and told him what happened on that fateful night.
