Wes, I just wanted to share my stories as I have found comfort in your show. An outlet of non-judgement and understanding. Maybe at some point we can speak. I happened to find your show as I was trying to find something to listen to at work. One of my co workers happened to listen too and told me to listen. Turns out my brother listens too.
My first sighting was in April/May of 1994. My Dad, Mom, sister and I were on the way up to browning Montana from Denver Colorado. We had eaten dinner late in a little town on the south end of Bear Tooth Pass. We left and headed up the pass. I believe it was around 9:00PM. I had fallen asleep in the backseat driver side and had woken up to shift for comfort. As we came around a hairpin right turn, I saw something. I looked as the headlights faded off the boulder on the turn of that corner. At the time I was 13 and the only reference I had was a baby gorilla. I guess the rock/boulder to be about 4ft tall. This thing stood and looked square at me (or at least it felt like it.) I only saw from his waist up but he was a good amount above the rock. I guess about 6 or 6 ½ feet tall. This quick incident was only about 5 seconds of roadside viewing, but it has always stayed with me. The biggest thing I can remember was its eyes. They seemed to glow on their own and were a mesmerizing blue. This was a big deal for me because I can still picture seeing the red of our break lights in his eyes and they were still VERY blue. No disruption from the red of the taillights. I thought maybe I was just half awake and tired and thought nothing of it. We visited my family friends for a week and came home. The last night I was there I told my uncle about what I had seen. He simply looked at me and said “Oh my girl that was a bigfoot and I believe what you saw. You are special to have seen the big guy.” I never told my family but that always stuck in my head.
Fast forward to August of 2010. My brother and I took our families up to a place called Fall River Road near Idaho Springs, Co. In total there were 4 Adults and 5 kids. When you get there you have to walk about a mile across the cement dam and around the little reservoir. On the furthest side of the lake was a man-made Teepee and fire pit. This has since been taken down. We all headed up the right side of the lake toward the Teepee. When we got there we unloaded and the kids went off to be kids and play in the dirt. My husband at the time went to go fish and my brother and sister-in-law went for a little “walk”. I sat down at the opening of the teepee looking out at the kids. The teepee was not full, more like a crescent moon shape. Not too long after I sat down I heard a movement on the side of the mountain and didn’t think much of it. I thought it was my brother and his wife. I looked behind me, through the logs of this haphazard teepee, and saw this flash of rusty orange. I didn’t think much of it and went back to watching the kiddos. About 5 minutes later I was hit with a very pungent odor. To me it was like a combination of wet dog and vomit. It nearly made me sick to my stomach. Just as fast as it came on it was gone. I remember the kids said they were hungry so I broke out our snacks and we started eating. I then got that eerie “being watched” feeling that came on very strong. I became very uneasy and told the kids to hurry up with their snacks. About 10 minutes later my brother and his wife returned. I asked him witch way they went. He then told me they had gone off to the right. I realized they had never been behind me and neither were in an orange or red color. My stomach sunk and I simply said to him “We have to go”. He didn’t question me and we picked up our stuff and headed back down the trail. He told me later that I looked tired and pale. He thought I may have been sick. As we were heading back down my husband joined the group. We got about half way back when one of the boys saw a footprint in the mud. Just before a log/root in the path there was a rather large bare footprint. I shooed the kids on and my husband and sister in law were in the front. My brother then took out his razor flip phone and took a picture of the print. As he took off down the trail and I heard a noise off to my left in the trees. I turned my head slightly but not fully to the left to look. Out of the corner of my eye I caught the rusty orange color again. From behind one of the trees this thing was peaking around to look at us. Like a slow motion movie I see this thing lean out with it’s left hand on the tree. It kind of one sided smirked, like a “huh” motion. Then slowly went back behind the tree. It reminded me of doctor Zaius from the 1968 planet of the apes. The only difference is the muzzle didn’t protrude like the costume. Not as light as the character but red orange like an actual orangutan. I thought it could have been an orangutan just without the crest. I remember seeing it’s hands and the fingers looked like Bratwurst sausages. Almand color eyes and not sunk in. flush to the face like ours.
I don’t know if it followed but I got out of there and across the damn as soon as I could. By this time everyone was at the trucks about 100 yards away. As I stepped off the damn and onto the path my stomach dropped again. Some kind of “primal” fear told me I was in danger and needed to go. I just remember standing there weak in the knees trying to get myself to go. As I tried to step I was drawn to look up. The cliff side next to the trail was about 8 feet tall. Beyond that was a thick patch a of tree line. In those trees was a black mass of huge proportions. I couldn’t make any details out other than the blob shape. I honestly thought it was just the way the forest grew with some brush and fallen trees, just honest nature. As I spotted this mass I heard a very load, booming, deep, guttural growl of “OUT!!” I obviously don’t know if it said “out” but that’s what it sounded like to me. It reminded me of the typical deep voice you hear in horror movies. Just long and drawn out. “OOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTT!”Then I felt like I had been let out of quicksand or something. All of a sudden my movement came back and I ran for the trucks. The rest of the day I was just drained. Dizzy, weak, nauseous. Just not myself. Even my kids asked but I just told them I didn’t feel good. My brother tried to talk to me but I refused to say anything to him. I think in the back of my mind he knew.
Now a month later, in September, myself and 3 others went 4 wheeling in Manitou Springs, co. It was my brother, husband and another family friend. My SIL stayed home with the kiddos. We got to the main area where there are some hiking trails and a shooting range. We spent some time there and headed back to the trucks. In this area there are numerous 4×4 trails to take so I truly don’t know which way we headed. I did notice that the further we went the thicker the trees got and the smaller and more narrow the 4×4 trail got. We eventually got to a clearing with a small but deep stream. We hopped out to check what the best option was. During this time I had to go to the restroom. I told the guys I was going behind the little dune about 50 feet behind us. My brother said hold on I will come with you. So we walked over and he waited. As I pulled my pants back up I noticed a flock of birds fly out of a grove of Aspen trees up the hill to my left. I looked and thought well that’s weird. I’m not sure why. I came back out and my brother said he was going to go now. He then stepped away and I waited. All of a sudden from that same area all hell broke loose. Birds started chirping very loudly and seemed like they were in a panic. Then you could hear branches breaking and I could feel the ground shake. My brother came back around the hill and just calmly says “ I think I made him mad, pissing in his territory.” I just looked at him confused. As we went to leave we looked over to see the trees in that area just swaying vigorously. The trees looked like they were in a wind storm. Just back and forth back and forth. My husband honked the horn on our truck and the trees stopped moving. I almost feel like it was like “oh I better stop before I get busted.” The rest of our trip was fun but uneventful.
I didn’t think anything else of it. A few months later around Thanksgiving my brother and I were just talking when our August and September trips got brought up. I finally told him what happened at the reservoir. He said he knew something was not right with me. When we talked about the bathroom break he had an interesting theory. He believes that this creature like most mammals marks his territory. I went to the bathroom which may have drawn his interest, then my brother went marking his territory on top of me. The craziest thing about that day was the fact I went back and checked; I was ovulating that week. I think this thing smelled my hormones. As crazy as that seems it would almost make since. I know of the tales of abductions of women and children. Supposed hybrids and in general people going missing. I think everything has an answer weather we get to find out or not.
Thank you for your time and I would love to hear from you if you get some time. I hope that you are well and I and many others thank you for your outlet.”
