Sasquatch Chronicles

Survivorman – Building a shelter

Knowing how to build a shelter in a survival situation is absolutely critical. it’s one of the top priorities for staying alive in a survival situation.

Exposure — whether from cold, heat, wind, or rain is one of the fastest ways to die in the wild. Hypothermia and heatstroke can strike within hours. A shelter helps regulate your body temperature and shields you from wind, rain, snow, or direct sun.

Without a proper shelter, your body burns more energy trying to maintain warmth or cool down. A good shelter helps you conserve calories and rest effectively, which is essential when you’re already low on food and water.

A shelter can act as a physical barrier from biting insects, snakes, and small predators. Even a raised or enclosed area offers psychological comfort and a sense of safety.
