A listener writes “Over the past couple years I’ve endured some very strange experiences while hunting in the Ozark Mountains in southern MO. Over the past 3 years, I’ve had 4 experiences in the woods that have confused the heck out of me, 2 of them being quite terrifying.
I’ve found tree breaks, seen orbs and/or apparitions, found turkeys stuck in a trance (as if hypnotized) on tree limbs right above me, rocks thrown at me, heard 20+ second howls, and had our cabin hit by something so hard that it moved the building while we were sleeping, scared my kid and wife incredibly.
I have access to about 1,900 acres of private land in the Ozark Mountains, it’s extremely remote with lots of deep timber and boulder fields/rock formations.
I’m pretty much the only person that goes on the largest parcel, about 820 acres, and I’m afraid to be out there in the dark since my scariest incident in spring 2024. It’s an extremely remote property off the grid, also has remnants of civil war battle (structures, artillery rock walls) so not sure if what I’m experiencing is ghosts or something else.
I’m a deeply passionate outdoorsman, previously a park ranger and I live to hunt turkey, deer, geese and fish rivers. I work in the corporate world now, can’t really discuss these things with friends/family, colleagues as they think I’m crazy from the very few I’ve told.
