Strange Orb Experience

A listener writes “On August 6th I experienced something that was light in the middle of the day. It was after lunch. My wife had come into the room to say that she was going to take a shower.

I was lying in bed and I had just turned off your podcast and placed my phone on my nightstand. I had just finished putting on my CPAP mask and was adjusting my blanket. I was wondering how long it was going to take my wife to take her shower, she had been in there for about five to ten minutes at this point. The room grew still and the hackles on the back of my neck started to rise. (I’m not completely blind. I can see light and dark and can determine the shade of the light. I also can see some detail in my periphery vision but it is very limited.) I was holding the blanket right below my neck, I had just finished adjusting it. At the bottom of the bed, a light began to glow and grew in intensity and in size. I could not determine its size and shape. However, it was bright white with a bluish tinge around its edges.

The next thing I knew, I felt the blanket ripple at my feet and travel all the way up my body as if someone had shaken it to spread it evenly. I then began to feel a warmth that began to spread from my feet up my body. Following the warmth, the light also began to move up my body. As it approached my head, I could hear a slight hum and crackling, as if there was static discharge. The light passed around the back of my head and over the top, and then in front of my face. I was lying on my right side facing my nightstand. As the light passed between me and my phone, your podcast played for a second or two, then clicked off. I then felt air as if my CPAP hose had disconnected from the mask. I also began to feel as if I was floating upwards off the bed. It was at this point that I began to become really afraid. I don’t know if I was screaming, but I felt like I yelled “Stop” three times, but nothing happened. I then recited the Charm of Making twice, and found myself laughing at myself. (In case you don’t know, The Charm of Making is the spell that Merlin uses in the movie Excaliber. This spell is actually found in a 18th or 19 century grimoire called the Bardass.) I then said, “You dumbass, that’s not going to do anything.” Anyway, I said a holy name three times, and thump! I was on the bed. My CPAP hose was fully attached to the mask and the blanket floated down and settled on me. I was left staring off into space and wondering what the hell was that! Throughout the experience, although I was afraid, I never felt that it was evil or that there was any malicious intent. I actually felt as if it was just curious, almost like the orb had said to me, “Watcha doing?”

My wife came in shortly after, but she had not heard anything. I told her of my experience, and she had no idea anything had happened or occurred.”
