A listener from Southern New Hampshire writes “I love the show and wanted to tell someone about these two encounters. I don’t necessarily want to be on the show, but I want to tell someone who will actually believe me. These encounters took place a few years ago, I can’t quite remember, the summer of either 2020 or 2021.
I guess I’ll start with the Sasquatch encounter, which wasn’t nearly as interesting as my second encounter, but more on that later. So there was a large local forest with a reservoir and waterfall as well as hiking trails. I used to go back there all the time to go fishing. There were many fields as well around the woods. So I was walking towards a trailhead after fishing around the waterfall (which was in the open with no woods around it) and right in front of me, next to the trail, was a field. In the field, maybe 200-300 feet in front of me I saw something walking away from me. It was light tan and about 5-6 feet tall. At first I thought it was a guy, because I remember saying to myself, “Who is that?” And thinking I was going to go talk to them and see how they were doing. But as I was walking towards it trying to get a better look at the “person”, they reached the tree line, and it didn’t even look like it walked into the forest. It’s silhouette kind of just blended in with the trees and then just melted.
I want to emphasize that it didn’t look like it actually walked in, it just seemed to all of a sudden camouflage with the trees and then disappear. Also at that property, I think I might have seen a much taller one that was pitch black run behind a tree, but I’m not entirely sure if it wasn’t just my mind playing tricks. Since then somebody put up private property signs and cut down a lot of brush, but don’t seem to be doing anything with the land. My second encounter happened in my backyard. Now, my backyard is decently large, but nothing crazy. It is also fenced in with a chain link about 6 feet tall. There used to be a lot of brush and trees in the back of my yard, stretching about 10-15 feet from the fence. So one day in the middle of the afternoon I was sitting in my sunroom with my dog. My sunroom had a very good view of the backyard as it was on my back deck and has glass walls facing the backyard. So my dog started barking and wouldn’t stop. I was confused as there was no one at the door and she had no view of the street where people might be walking. As I was scanning my backyard, trying to figure out what her problem was, I caught a glimpse of something through a gap in the bushes at the far back of the yard. It appeared to be a tall man 6 or 7 feet tall, striding fast. I only glimpsed his head and shoulders, but he was wearing a brown vest/jacket, the fancy suit type that goes over a shirt.
I don’t quite remember if I saw a shirt or a tie under or what color it was, but the most striking feature was that he had no face. His skin was pale white. Not like a white person’s skin, but full white, like snow. He had no hair, no ears, and no facial features at all. I only glimpsed him for a split second before he was gone, completely concealed. I immediately grabbed my siblings and ran outside with the dog. The dog instantly ran straight to about the spot where I’d seen him in the trees. Investigating revealed nothing. No person, no sign of anyone except a couple vague shoe prints next to the fence that could have come from anyone. My parents shrugged me off and no one except my siblings really believed me. Especially because what I saw appeared very similar to, well, slenderman. Now, slenderman is a hoax created by an artist, but I cannot deny what I saw appeared very similar. So everyone just brushed me off assuming I was lying about seeing slenderman.”
