A listener writes “Hello, Wes! I’d like to share my Bigfoot encounter. In 2011, I had moved to Cazadero, CA in a VERY small cabin. The cabin was part of a larger property used as a church retreat.
Most of this area is very heavily wooded, mostly with redwoods, Douglas Firs and Bay trees. By heavily wooded, I mean that not much sunlight penetrated through the canopy. The property was bordered by a creek.
Cazadero is very wet and cool. Being close to the Russian River and the Pacific Ocean, the temperatures stayed in the 70’s even in the hottest weather.
Deer and other wildlife would come into “Caz” to seek relief from the hot and dry weather of Summer and also brought bears and mountain lions. Any other time, not much lived there as nothing could grow. There wasn’t much food otherwise.
Part of my rental agreement was to maintain and clean the grounds. Frequently, large rotted limbs of the redwoods would come crashing down and one morning I was out picking these up. I noticed a lot of bird noises which I thought was unusual. There was a small group of redwoods growing in a tight circle, as I was picking up wood debris I noticed what appeared to be an unusual tree. It was a hairy leg.
My mind was jolted, trying to understand what this was as I looked up and saw a Bigfoot standing in this small grove. It was massive, brown to rust colored with thick hair, but beautiful. My heart dropped and I immediately turned around, trying to pretend that I didn’t notice, even though our eyes made contact. My only thought was “I’m not supposed to be here” I walked away, half expecting it to hit me from behind or worse. I went into the cabin and all I could do is stare at the wall. I listened to the increased bird noises and heard movement through the forest. After a bit, all quieted down and I resumed my day, always thinking of what just happened.”
