A listener writes “I live on a 80 acre farm in IL. Last year around the second week of June I was outside early in the sunny evening with my dog a yellow lab mix when he started barking at something to the east.
I looked and saw three animals running on all fours across the new hay field at a high rate of speed, their gate was longer than a hoarse and was strange unlike anything I had ever seen before. They were at least 400 yards away yet I could make out their back legs had forward knees like us, and the front legs(?) were too long and reached long with each stride. The closest one was big an bulky with cinnamon colored hanging hair that shined in the evening sun, It looked like a huge baboon.
The two other animals were dark if not black with shorter hair, both had a much more slender build but were very long. On all three I could not see any sign of a head, probably since they were running at an angle away from us. My dog was not upset but kept up his move along bark. Within seconds they were gone in the high grass at the edge of the field. This really blew my mind and I have been trying to come to terms with it since it happened last year.”
