A listener writes “I am a retired from the US Army. While I was stationed in California my son and I went on a Bigfooting Expedition in October of 2010 in No Cal near the Klamath River.
My son who was only 7 at the time was with me. This was our first and only time Bigfooting. I’m pretty sure both my son and I were hit with infrasound. I’m sure that the animal in question was attempting to prey on my son and I am absolutley positive had I not been armed me, my son , and the lady who was with us on the trail we were investigating would have been dead.
I found this group through a friend who knew I was interested in Sasquatch. My friend introduced me to this group and because I am an Army Ranger who had access to FLIR and Night Vision they couldnt invite me to their next expedition fast enough. I took a 12 gauge mossberg and my Colt 1911 with me because I wont go into any mountain lion / bear / illegal pot grower area unarmed. I also brought my nods and thermal viewer from my companys arms room with me. When I got to the Expedition area and met up with these folks they were happy to see my technology but not my firearms. I was not too keen on leaving my guns in my truck but i did manage to sneak my 1911 in with my vest and concealed holster.
The Encounter: There were 10 of us on this expedition including my son and I. First night was uneventful. The second morning my I went with one of the group leaders a lady named Melissa to check our camera traps. My son was with us and like any 7 year old boy he was about 40 yards ahead of us. He came up to a thicket of briars and stopped in his tracks. I knew something was wrong when he fell over in his tracks. I ran to him when I got there I noticed he had wet himself and was in a trance. Suddenly I was confused and sick to my stomach. I looked up and no more than 10 yards away concealed in the thicket I saw the face of the animal. I was completely confused but somehow managed to fire my 1911 in the air. This seemed to wake me up and I was able to pick my kid up and get the hell back to our campsite. Melissa was affected differently as she was terrified beyond belief and I had to drag her the 2 miles back to camp as well. Needless to say we left as I wanted to get my boy looked at. There is a whole lot more to this incident but I dont like to write /type.”
