Human-Like Figure Looked Down At Us

A listener writes “Wes, Just recently found your site and really appreciate the work you do. I have a question regarding a type of Sasquatch behavior and wondering what your take on it is.

The question arises from my only sighting which happened back in 1980. As sightings go mine was pretty insignificant since the distance was 300-400 yards. You may know this location since you’re from around here. It took place on Mt Pugh, between Monte Cristo and Darrington on the Mountain Loop Hwy. We were coming down from the summit of Pugh and were almost to the tree line where we stopped for a water break or something. We turned and looked back up at Stujack Pass where we had just been a few minutes before and saw movement and then a human-like figure stood and looked down at us.

Seeing someone up there was odd because when we arrived, our car was the only one at the trailhead and if you know the hike, there is no way you could miss someone on the upper mountain. Anyway we quietly watched this figure standing looking down at us. I can’t gauge size at that distance and it was basically a just a silhouette against the skyline. It did seem to be large and have long arms but we couldn’t see any detail. The next thing it did is what I’m writing to you about. It started waving its arms up and down like someone flagging down a car. Now if a human does this they would normally be trying to get your attention and most likely need help. If this was a person he could easily have shouted down to us, letting us know what was up. This individual just stood there flapping its arms, would pause for a bit then do it again. We didn’t respond and the sighting lasted 20-30 seconds before low clouds slid in and covered the pass. When we got back down to our car it was still the only one at the trailhead.

I noticed in your episode #625 you read the narrative of an account on a beach where the same arm waving behavior was described. Have you heard any other accounts that describe this and what do you think it means?

As I said this is all pretty insignificant and I do understand if you don’t have time to respond but this curious behavior has always stuck in my head.

Anyway, thanks for your time and keep up the good work!”
