A listener writes “Around six years ago I was living at my fathers house in Salem Connecticut. Most of the time I was alone there my dad was staying at his girlfriend’s.
One even I had just got home at was walking to the door with no exterior lights, the car lights were off as I was getting to the door the woods is to my back and I hear a low pitch growl. We have coyotes bobcats fox sometimes lynx on a cold winter but they usually avoid the house. Coyotes get close in a pack but not often. I got inside turned on the exterior lights and saw nothing.
I didn’t think much of it at that point but about a week later I was up late it was a super warm evening so the windows were open while I was in bed and I hear rustling outside my window passing it off as a deer I turn off the TV. Soon as the TV light went out I hear screaming night like a bobcat more like a person I got up and grabbed my gun and flash light made my way down the stairs
I could still hear the dead branches and leaves crackling. I get to the door turn the lights on aim the gun and flash light in that direction. I see two large eyes about twenty yards in the pitch black. Eye had a soft green reflection from the flash light but the body of this was obscured by brush. I called out and said I see you. Then I got a response a low pitched growl and a quick whistle. I was perplexed at first the I started getting goose bumps the fear when j heard something moving behind me.
Needless to say I shut the door locked it and moved back to the upstairs as quietly as possible ad sat below my window with my gun till the sun came up. That’s the short of it never had anything else occur while I was there I moved out a month later everyone I told said I was full of it. Seeking out answers I thought maybe it was a mountain lion people say they see them but I listen to some recordings of the larger cats and couldn’t find the exact sounds I heard. I heard some recordings on you show and immediately was taking back to that night. I would love your honest input if you have time.”
