A listener writes “’ve been listening to your show for three or four years now, and I finally decided it was time to reach out. I’ve believed in Bigfoot and a lot of other unexplained things for as long as I can remember, but I never really thought I’d experience something myself. That changed when I was twelve.
It was mid February in the early afternoon, and I had a friend over. We were outside playing in the snow in my backyard in Schroon Lake, in the Adirondack Mountains of New York. Behind the yard, there was a gentle slope leading down into the woods. At one point, I happened to glance down that slope and saw something that immediately caught my attention a large head and shoulder peeking out from behind a tree, watching us.
I pointed it out to my friend, and he asked what I thought it was. We both stood there, watching as it slowly shifted back and forth, moving its head and shoulder in and out from behind the tree. I remember saying, almost without thinking, that I thought it might be a Bigfoot.
Right after I said that, it stepped out from behind the tree.
I couldn’t make out its features clearly and at twelve years old, I’m not sure I wanted to. The moment it took a step toward us, we both turned and ran straight back inside.”
