A listener writes “I’ll cut right to it, 3 years ago I was out in my backyard smoking a cigarette in a suburb about 40 minutes north of Boston. I’ve been interested in the existence of Bigfoot since I was a teenager but never considered them to be anywhere close to Massachusetts.
That is until one summer night I heard whistling coming from the swamp behind my house. Thinking it was a bird I whistled back. It whistled back at me and we went back in forth a few more times, I made each whistle different and it would copy me. I thought to myself at the time “must be a very clever mocking bird”.
That is until from a different part of the woods/swamp I was huffed at by what I can only describe as a gorilla noise. I felt that huff shake me in my bones and scared me so much I ran back inside. Having been interested in the subject for much my life I realized maybe that wasn’t a bird I was whistling with and maybe a juvenile while big daddy/momma huffed at me as if saying “quick talking to my kid”. I’ve heard other strange noises coming from those woods that summer including a wood knock and what I can only describe as a tropical bird out of the Amazon rainforest.
Anyways I’m a big fan of the podcast and would like to get your opinion on what I heard, I know it’s not the most interesting encounter and was told by friends/family that I’m nuts and just heard a fishercat or something, but no. I heard whistling and then something with immense lung capacity make a very gorilla/ape like huff at me.”
