What was the $22 million actually for? The program was called AAWSAP (Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program) and was run through the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) beginning in 2008. It was contracted to Robert Bigelow’s company, Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies (BAASS). The $22 million figure is widely cited for the program, although the money was not simply a $22 million “Skinwalker Ranch investigation.”
This distinction matters because AAWSAP had a much broader mission: investigating potential advanced aerospace technologies and UAP related phenomena. BAASS, which was closely associated with Bigelow’s Skinwalker Ranch research, also conducted investigations at the ranch.
So what did they find at Skinwalker? This is where the story gets much more interesting and much less conclusive.
