Strange events on my property

A listener writes “I had a house built in 2012 in the mountains of NC. I’ve had many encounters with Black Bear to know what happen to me wasn’t a bear.

My first experience was not long after I moved in that same year. I heard a howl. I knew it wasn’t a dog, coyote, human or bear. It was unlike anything I heard before. The first time I heard you play the Ohio howls the hair on the back of my neck stood up and chills ran down my back. I said to myself that’s what I heard.

My second was in January of 2013. I was watching tv and something hit the one corner of the house. It was so hard and loud that it shook the house. I grabbed my .454, threw the flood lights on a ran out onto the deck. All I heard was something quite large running thru the woods. I’ve heard bear and deer crashing thru the woods and this sounded bipedal. I haven’t had any other experiences since like that.

I’ve talk to a few neighbors and a couple had reported of hearing howls that they too can’t explain. I’ll have to play the Ohio howls for them to see if it’s the same howl they heard.

Take care and keep up the good work.”
