SC REIMAGINED EP:01 The Chewbacca Man & No Damn Bear

I have been working on a project called Sasquatch Chronicles Reimagined. I want to test it out on your podcast player. Let me know if the video loads and any feedback you have. I am curious to see if this works. Below is the same episode uploaded to your podcast player. Still working out a few bugs but I hope this works

No AI…listening to the encounters without AI is so much more interesting. It allows us , the listeners to use our imagination and really focus on the story tellers emotions . AI is slop.

  2. Justin P

Wes, great job! I watched the video on Apple Podcasts and had no problems. I really enjoyed the content, too. I enjoy listening to the whole podcast, but reviewing previously released accounts ā€œreimaginedā€ as shorter cuts is brilliant.

Takin’ it to another Level and I will Follow wherever You Lead, W-Man.
Awesome Transition. Everything was A #1 Executed, Wes. Took a lot of work and I Appreciate All of It. Thank You. Did you have help putting this together? The re-enactments are very well done, actors are spot on. These are a couple of my Many Favorite episodes.
IF you want suggestions for other episodes to re-imagine I will happily advise. Good Form, Great Job. Thanks again ~ Norita59

Nice work Wes, I watched it on the castbox app it worked perfectly fine I enjoyed & can think of a few that would be nice to see that way.. the 2 brothers episode I think it was titled we need help? That would def be a good one also Mike Wooleys episode is another of many that I think would be great candidates, anyway thank-you !!! I’m looking forward to what i hope is many more in this new format of previous released episodes.

The link to YouTube works well, and it is somewhat interesting for what it is. I’m not generally a fan of this type of A.I. use. Personally, I prefer listening to the podcast and using my mind to paint the picture šŸ™‚

  6. Aaron M

Really like the new project. Puts a little more fear in u when you have visuals along with the commentary. Just a observation but the AI visuals need a be a little better at putting forward a continuous story, its a little jumpy. but really enjoyed it. Thanks

  7. greg b

Guess it’s fine for some people, but I like to listen with out watching something not real so I can hear what the guest is saying and imagine in my own mind what was going an and what they encountered. I would not like to see some AI rendition of my encounter. Seems like it would cheapen the experience.

  8. Kenneth S

This is cool, but I much more enjoy the “podcast’ format. I’m a listener who waits till bedtime to listen. I get all cozy and allow my mind to paint the picture of what is being conveyed. Sometimes it takes me several nights to get through one episode because I will fall asleep to the cool images I’m picturing in my mind before a end of a episode. This AI imagery is super cool and I think for some more of the “spectacular” episodes this would be awesome to watch. Seige at Honobia comes to mind, so does Ape Canyon. I would hate for this to replace Sasquatch Chronicles as it exist, but would be open to a stand alone “Reimagined” format for a YouTube channel. I’m sad I’m not getting a show tonight. Maybe put these “experiments” up on Thursdays so we dont get gipped. Just a little ribbing, Wes. It’s awesome that you still want to innovate. Best of luck..

I like the idea and some of the generated videos add a new depth to the account, I particularly found the cop and the firefighter video to be really cool. I think the main difference between the standard podcast and this format is that when we just have the audio and the claimant’s account of the encounter, it forms our own unique picture in our minds of what is going on. A bit like if two people read the same book, each person would form their own imaginary world from the same story that would be individually unique. Quite often when a book becomes a movie you get to visually experience things that you never thought were in the story and some of those things your mind relates to and other things it doesn’t really quite agree with based on the original story. I would like to see Claire’s account done like this, listened to that story so many times like reading a classic book and wonder how the movie would illustrate it.

    Thank you Wes!
It’s great, I love it!! One of my favorite episode’s too🄳

And though I’m not a big fan of AI for much of anything, simply because I feel it should be folding laundry and keeping house so people -me!šŸ˜‚-can go be free and make ArtšŸ˜‰šŸ˜„
You used AI to make this and it’s fantastic and I love it!

I don’t use a podcastplayer and it simply opens up on youtube, so it’s good.
    ā˜€ļøšŸŒ»šŸ«ˆšŸŒæ

  11. Mary B

Took me right into my YouTube app and played smoothly. The AI video looks good and sounds good. I enjoyed it very much Wes.
    I would say it’s a SUCCESS!
    Thanks Wes

  12. Anne-Marith V

Oh and by the way, spotted a little mistake šŸ¤“šŸ˜¶ā€šŸŒ«ļø; the officer finds Dobbs’ hat and then he finds Dobbs wearing his hatšŸ˜†
    ā˜€ļøšŸŒ»šŸ«ˆšŸŒæ

  13. Adam W

not playing in app, just links to YouTube.

also we should really avoid AI especially on the topic of sasquatch. its diluting any truth to the myth we are here for, and makes even the stories appear to be fake generated content.

I scroll past videos like this on YouTube while looking for good sasquatch content.

  14. Charles R

Looks like a home run to me Wes. I only watch and listen on my computer as I hava a really good sound system and much larger screen. Will probably get a larger screen this Xmas. Great project and a good way to take an hour show to a much shorter video with just the essentials.

  15. Chad W

From my perspective, this is a good way to do it. Create these “reimaginings” for some of the most classic, iconic episodes, and have those be in addition to your regular shows. An iconic episode that would be fun to see reimagined would be Episode 419, the one about the “haints” in Kentucky. It was freaky enough hearing that one originally, and it would be super freaky to see it visually portrayed!

  16. Tara W

This is so awesome, Wes! Once Tony sees this he’s going to be doing some spooky ass stuff on his page lol.

Your hard work on behalf of the community can’t be hyped enough. Woop woop!

  17. Ann

Wow Wes! I thought it was very good!!! It was realistic, loved the scenes, I felt like I was there, and the visual details (like the snacks) were perfect in the first story. The second story with Dobbs actually gave me chills. I was with him in the woods…
I am impressed. It would be good for someone who doesn’t believe, to view and listen.
I had no problems with the video on laptop.

  18. Susan D

Hey Wes, I’m with Jarrod! I would not watch it yesterday… but today I took time out…. They are just awesome! I just hope you don’t do away with the original format…. I love listening to the show…. But yeah…. These two translate from AI just great! I love them . I’d love to see the man on the porch in Pike County GA with Sasquatch calling his Dog Peanut! No , not really! I have a great imagination! That one was too creepy!!!!

  19. Joyce E

WOW Wes, I don’t know how you did these “reimagined” episodes, but they are fantastic. I really enjoyed watching them. I’m sure they were a lot of work on your part, but any more you care to do I will certainly watch and enjoy. Thanks so much.

  20. Wendy R

I’m game for short stories but may not work well for longer ones. I have a pretty active imagination? Sometimes just the story alone is worse than anything you could possibly create in A.I. Chewbacca Man was a favorite but I didn’t envision it like that? I thought he actually SAW the thing walk up to them, not just chase from the side. Good first try. For those who need the extra boost, I guess it’s OK. I’ll probably watch them. Maybe then I’ll get to understand the difference between a ridge and a holler! LOL

  21. Rebecca J

I really liked how you told both stories reimagined. I actually have both those encounters in my favorites library. Great job Wes’! Thanks for all your hard work that you do!! šŸ‘ Your podcast is one of the best out there!

  22. Nikita V

As someone who is currently in court with other families, protesting the construction of 2 of these Meta Data AI Centers on the doorstep of our farm, I can’t support these videos. Yes, the idea is great to give a visual – but environmentally, AI is detrimental.
I look forward to this podcast every week. Keeping it just audio is the way to go.

  23. Kurt T

Don’t like this at all, plays on YouTube only for me. Seriously not into AI re-enactments of real peoples stories. It takes away the authenticity of the story.

    • Wes

The video is created using a transcript of the show. The actual person is recounting what happened. Help me understand, what you mean? You know in finding Bigfoot when eyewitnesses share their encounter, you are not really watching an encounter in a reenactment

      • Kurt T

Hi Wes, for us listening to your show in an audio only format is great we really don’t need a reenactment via AI to try and give a story more detail I think most listeners enjoy imagining the scenes that’s part of why your podcast is so popular. Also calling these episodes reimagined makes it sound like the story was imagined in the first place which questions the credibility of the witness. We absolutely love your show and would hate see the haters having a reason to discredit your work.

  24. Elizabeth S

I am one of the ones that listen on a Android phone. If doing it this way will keep it front cutting off great. But I do like the way you do it now as I listen alot in car. Thank you Wes.

  25. Stacey C

Wes again I apologize I didn’t mean to sound rude at all, just wasn’t sure if new episode was coming or if these were put out in place. To stay on topic I personally loved them the visual along with the story made me feel as if I were actually there right along with them, made me connect with how they might be feeling while a visual aid was given at the same time!!! I love it… I guess the question is will you be doing visuals along with the whole story? I think would be awesome, or are you going to just put out short clips as non member show? Will members show still be just interviews? Either way I love it, I think as someone above stated seeing Anthony’s story 429 I think with the visual would be awesome, along with so many like the Stand off, or the one right before that the old man of the woods with Delilah , like Saturday night full episode of reimagined and Sunday’s new interview? ? Personally I’m good with whatever you decide to do and support your choice… Thanks Wes.

  26. Stacey C

I guess in short, you’ve been talking about doing after Dark for a long time, this is something that you have been wanting to do for a long time now so do it!!!!!! Just like you didn’t give up on Sasquatch Chronicles in the beginning, go ahead with this!!!!!

  27. Cath M

Hi Wes, it played fine and it looks good and I don’t want to sound like a Luddite but the Ai turns me off. Also I super enjoy just hearing the accounts because I imagine the setting, like enjoying books more than the movie. Keep up the great work… you’re my go to podcast and have been for ten years ish…thank you dude ā¤ļøšŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ«ˆ

  28. Suzannah D

ohhh i really liked it, imagine seing some of our faves done like this… especially the dogman episodes theyd be down right scary šŸ™ˆ, I love listening to the pod cast last thing at night helps me chill but im gonna enjoy watching them too , thanks wes, Awesome!

  29. Lisa S

I love this idea!! Alot of the episodes would be great for this Wes!! Thanks for always thinking outside the box and coming up w/ new ways for this content!! It is appreciated!

  30. Kimberly D

It worked well Wes. It sounds like a lot of your listeners like this. Our house prefers listening to the podcast rather than watching it. Listening to it is like reading a good book or listening to an audio book. It allows our own mind to build the picture and setting. The AI images are inconsistent as well. 😬

  31. Gregory O

I appreciate the thought behind this, Wes, but I don’t think you can out-do listening to the actual voices of the witnesses. Listening takes you on a journey which you visualize in your mind, and that is hard to beat. I feel the data centers churning out this AI stuff is a waste of money and resources, as well. Helping us get to space is one thing, but AI memes and such, not so much. Just my two pennies. Thanks for all you do to bring this subject to light.

  32. Asheim

I thoroughly enjoyed this! This just enhanced imagination I thought. I loved the AI element and thought it added a great new dimension to the show. I listen off of my iPad via internet from Norway. Thanks Wes!

  33. Mary K

ok. it loaded. kind of strange seeing the ai vision of the story. vs what we have imagined in our minds. the audible story seems so realistic. when seeing others say it in film maybe not so much.

  34. Jasob D

Cool edition. Good for you, man branching out. I think there’s an entire audience that doesn’t know you’re here that you will have access to. It messes very well. Better than I expected it to be.

  35. William C

Wes, you are a knowledgeable and empathetic interviewer and draw out details and feelings from the folks you interview. While the production values exhibited in these “re-imagined” episodes are very good, the repartee is missing. The energy that you devote to producing, recording, and presenting your interviews is greatly appreciated.

  36. Kevin S

Worked fine for me on my android. I love was skeptical of this at first but found that I really liked it. Reminded me of watching old Monster Quest and Terror in the Woods episodes with my son. I hope you make more with a greatest hits kind of feel, like you used to do around the holidays. Or better yet, took member requests!

  37. Bridghid R

There is good and bad in AI. I personally draw the line at deceit. Pretending to be an actual human, in any form. Claiming authorship of stories/music compiled from actual writers. Wes isn’t doing that here, this is clearly a digital recreation of an actual story, told by an actual person. Just listen to the audio only if it bothers you, it’s not like there was video before this anyway, and no one is forcing you to watch it at the same time. I enjoyed it, mostly because it really added to the stories.

  38. Terran S

We are fighting AI in our neighborhood tooth and nail. They want to build one down the road. My imagination as I hear the story works best for me. I started ro watch but just couldn’t funish. Not due to it’s quality but just the AI aspect.

  39. Kevin P

As long as the AI stays true to the geographical locations it’ll work for me. When an AI story talks about the Blue Ridge Nountains, for example, and shows the mountains in the Mojave Desert… I’m done, lose interest, comment about it being fake and a load of crap. Remember, we’re a tough crowd out here and want it done right. Appreciate your asking for our feedback.

  40. Aaron G

Awesome videos, I always though that some of stories if animated would be great videos. these will scratch that ich. Keep up the great work, can’t wait to see the stories from the into to the show. Claire’s account I would do as a longer video.

  41. John D

sorry but for me it’s not as good as listening to real people telling their stories with their own voice. Plenty of shows that just want to tell a story but you’re better than that. cheers

  42. Philip Anthony J

Hey Wes … dude, I love it!!! You must have spent some time on this. It gives me something to see in relation to the story. Sometimes, when you don’t have a visual, it’s hard to imagine it. But this gives you something to look at. Personally, it enhances the story. Some might say, ā€œWell, how does anyone know what it actually looked like?ā€ Well, that’s the point, no one does, so why not create, to the best of your knowledge, what it must looked like. Again, I love the shit, and I hope you keep them coming!

  43. Megan C

The forest service story one was SO good! I’ve listened to that one more than once and always tried to imagine it as it played out. You REALLY captivated it–and it was scary! Very cool, Wes.

  44. Karen W

Hey Wes, I have just been able to watch these,I thought they were great, and I didn’t think I would. I’m with others here and have favourites like the paramedics (182), Tracey (75) the old lady in the house (419) the guys hospitalised (413) and so it goes on! Yep I’ve listened to every podcast and have a list of ones to listen to over and over!

You can see a huge amount of work has gone into this and your time and effort hasn’t gone unnoticed. Thank you Wes, it was worth all you put into it for sure.

  45. Jerry S

I love this idea, Wes. I can listen to SC while at work or driving, and watch SC Reimagined at home. I didn’t think you could make Sasquatch Chronicles any better but you did!

  46. Eric D

Wes!!! this is cool! but, there is something to be said about your current delivery. It’s like listening to a book on tape and allows the listener to use their
minds eye to imagine for themselves. To me this is more powerful. Also – currently I can do so many things while listening, mowing the lawn, gardening, working, driving, etc. if they were all videos I’d get distracted and want to watch. Maybe if there was one a month or bimonthly that would be cool. Seems like a decent time commitent. How many would you consider doing? Could be a good way to educate more folks about the countless witnesses who all seem to have oddly similar things happen over multiple decades and locations not near eachother which in my opinion corroborates and validates many encounters. Keep up the good work. I love listening and learning. Thank you!

  47. Grace L C

Hi Wes! Worked fine, video was clear and perfect, loaded no issues.
I mainly listen while I’m working (remotely) so the visual isn’t as important to me as it may be to others.
Keep up the great work! Been a member forEVER. šŸ™‚

  48. Wade B

Loved this and your really onto something Great here Wes. Watched in on my Apple Podcast and it was Awesome. Kids are going to love this! I thought it was cool how in the Park Ranger episode Re-Imagined you could see what it physically takes for a Sasquatch to get on all fours and look like a Spider. I’d love to see you and your brothers encounter done in AI or better yet as a short film. You have so many good shows to apply this to. Love your early episodes because you have all the Greatest there.

  49. Alan H

I’m VERY impressed, Wes! That was excellent production; the actors looked believable and the narrative with dialogue was very well Edited. The visuals were great! The forest fire scenes were impressive. I think you should work up to a feature length film!!! You could do much better than most of the ā€œBigfootā€ movies I’ve seen; with the added advantage that you are recreating from live events.
    Again, I’m very impressed!

  50. sandy m

Really loved it- those were really great!!!!!! Love the images you created instead of the Bigfoot costumes that are worn. The silhouette are very cool and scary but realistic. Please, can I have sum morr- 😊
