Of course there could be some escaped pet Cougars. Where we live is mainly sugarcane, rice and soybean fields with strips of trees bordering fields.

This was recorded by Carl Geautreaux who lives in a suburb about three miles from my home. There is no forest near us, everything is farm land and not even a hint of a hill. The first part of the video is an explanation of the recording and the vocals start about the 7 minute mark.
