<p>Honestly, could they be using something? Skunk, fish, rotten garbage, fecal matter, urine, etc., could all be scents applied intentionally to drive away a human. What I smelled had a definite skunk smell, that stuff is somewhat unique as far as I know in the animal world. </p>

<p>Fascinating question that I do not know the answer to. I know that they do not like guns, but will still approach gunfire to steal a kill from a hunter if they want. It may scare them, but then again, they might kick back and do the bigfoot version of oooooh &#8212; ahhhhhhhh.</p>

That was a weird encounter for sure. The fact that it displayed intimate interaction, whether male or female was creepy at best.
