We lived in Bailey. Thanks, Wes, for posting this. Jim and his wife are good friends of ours. Shared a bottle (or two) of the Aspen Peak Cellars pomegranate wine last September creekside with Jim and other friends. My husband helped Jim build the Sasquatch model in the Sasquatch Outpost museum and we are probably heading back there next month.
Jim gets a lot of people visiting the Outpost and always has stories for us. They’re great people.
In Bailey, my husband and I heard a loud OHHH outside our open window at 4 am by something with lungs as big as a semi. It was mournful and felt like it was complaining about the cold Colorado spring snows which extend the wintery season. Our window was 20 ft up off the ground which measured 12 inches before a sharp drop to the river below. That mountainside climb would eliminate most animals and certainly all humans at 4 am. I cancelled my attendance at a couple of Jim’s night hikes to go squatchin out of fear of becoming a forest bride. The big guy is cute, but he “ain’t that cute”. Just kidding.
Bailey CO is such a great place to visit. Just love it and miss it and can’t wait to get back there. We have our dearest Bailey friends who hold a room in their home for us. 🙂 The town firemen have seen squatches in the middle of the night crossing Crow Hill. I could go on and on. Thanks again Wes. 🙂
